The Silver Lake Heritage Trust is a non-profit organization started in 2015 by active and committed members of the Silver Lake, Echo Park and Elysian Valley communities. We strive to retain our vital neighborhood diversity with a focus on preservation, housing security, and respect for the environment.

For decades, our community has been a cultural haven for writers, artists, musicians and people from all walks of life. Today, these areas are threatened by mass eviction, demolition, gentrification and runaway development.

We believe our built environment reflects the rich history that has made Los Angeles a great place to live. While we are not against new development, we aim to preserve community integrity and support those projects which respect the diversity of our neighbors and the distinctive character of our neighborhoods.
